Renewable
Energy Resources
Our society has become very heavily energy dependent. The
need for
renewable energy resources has never been more
urgent.
In simpler times we use our energy to collect food and
design shelter for our families. Most of the energy used was
our own, commonly known as manual labor.
The human body’s energy is renewable. As long as we have
fuel, in the form of food and water, our bodies can utilizes
that fuel to produce energy and maintain the machine that is
our body.
The term renewable energy is somewhat of a misnomer, because
all energy is eventually renewable. Some of it just takes such
a long time that human kind would not be around to see its
return.

A good example of an energy source that is considered
non-renewable are fossil fuels. These chemical soups containing
many hydrocarbons capable of releasing energy were formed
millions of years ago by the forces of nature and geological
forces pushed them underground where their energy and their
toxins were out of reach; until humankind found a way to
capture and utilize their potential.
Unfortunately, we have recently become aware of the negative
result of releasing this energy. It is toxic contamination of
our air. The energy released in the use of fossil fuels is not
pure like the sun. The toxins held in the matrix of the fuels
are released when they are burned resulting in the over
abundance of these natural chemicals.
In small amounts, which until now were controlled y nature,
the toxins are neutralized or degraded over time and cause
little or no serious damage. Now, however it is their rapid
sustained release, which is the root of our global
environmental crisis.
Fossil fuels will run out, of that there is no debate.
Alternative energy sources must be developed to fill the void
before it occurs.
Renewable energy resources have been used since before
humans even knew how. Simply standing on the sunny side of a
tree on a windy day is using a form of renewable energy; the
sun’s radiant heat.
Science and insight have combined over the evolution of our
society to better utilize renewable energy resources. The most
frequently seen today are wind and solar energy, followed
closely by geothermal and biodiesel.
The energy inherent in the wind is that of movement. Most
people don’t give much thought to the air because it is
invisible to the human eye. We know from high school science
that it contains oxygen that we need to survive, but most
people don’t realize that it also contains many other elements
in a loose configuration like soup.
These molecules are not held fast in place by gravity the
way that earth and rocks are. The molecules are free wheeling
independent agents. Their movement is know as wind and
generally moves in the same direction as the Earth’s rotation
but at a slower rate. This is perceived by the earthbound as
wind.
The better utilization of renewable energy resources and the
information in this site on how you can access the material
about how to make a windmill and use the wind to
mechanically move a machine that will generate electricity,
supplying you with a free, safe and
renewable energy source will save you money and make our
world a better place to live in.
